60th Birthday Lunch

I celebrated my 60th Birthday....again.....with my Family at Riverstation. Brother P prepared a fantastic menu for 25 of us, including Mother, 5 of my 6 siblings, and assorted partners, children and inlaws. Sister C in San diego was greatly missed, and attempts to link up with her via a web cam failed due to technical problems.

The Tuna and guacamole was superb, and the "Eton Mess" dessert of raspberries and strawberries mixed with crushed meringue and cream was divine.

My speech was surpassed by Mother's account of my early years, being a nuisance, including my arrival 1 month early, surviving the freezing winter of 1946/47 squatting in a Nissen Hut on an RAF base, catching whooping cough, and being in and out of hospital for 2 years with a bone infection.

Thank you all for the binoculars which are exactly what I needed for birdwatching in Spain.
