Work on the Ruin
The day I got back from Spain (20th October), we heard that a skip had arrived outside the ruin and rubbish was being chucked out, and by the next day, the roof was off.
This naturally sounded alarm bells, as we share a party wall with the ruin which is only 1 brick thick, and the loss of sideways support might be serious if the ruin was demolished.
This does not seem to be the case, and other than part of the upper front wall being removed, it looks like they are going to rebuild and render the walls and put a new roof on. What has happened at the back remains an unknown.
I had contemplated flying over later this month, but will only do so if we hear about further demolition.
